● Our Environmental Management System SIO AUTOMOTIVE has already started the certification process of ISO 14001 Environment Management System and its planned to be certificated by June 2016. Our environment management system adopts continuous improvement approach and is integrated with our Quality Management Systems and OH&S system. SIO AUTOMOTIVE employees' environmental awareness is a key factor of our improvement in sustainable operations. ● Waste Water Treatment and Water Consumption All waste water is treated in our treatment facility. Our Water Treatment process is periodically inspected and water is analysed in acredited laboratories. By treating and recyling waste water in our processes, we achieved significant reduction in fresh water consumption. Our utility water is provided by water-well. Rain water is treated and stored to be used also for utility water needs. ● Waste Management SIO AUTOMOTIVE's waste management system ensures storing and eliminating hazardous wastes according to technical and legal standards, and futher improves the scope to reducing the wastes at the source and increasing the recycling rates. ● Compliance with National and International Laws and Regulations Regarding Environment SIO Automotive's manufacturing processes comply with related national and international laws and regulations, during whole product life cycle. This is ensured and controlled on ISO 14001 basis. In this respect, SIO AUTOMOTIVE fully complies with the below regulation; REACH – Regulation of the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals REACH is a comprehensive regulation of the European Union, it is about the management of chemicals and was released in 2007. It brings responsibilites to the whole chain from raw material supplier to the finished product seller. They must identify and manage the risks linked to the substances they manufacture and market in the EU. They have to demonstrate how the substance can be safely used, and they must communicate the risk management measures to the users. In SIO Automotive, we support this regulation as a very important important legal process to protect environment and human health, and to ensure chemical consumption is registered and controlled, while providing the related information to the users. ● Environmental Awareness and Training In SIO AUTOMOTIVE, all employees are regularly trained to improve their environmental awareness and to support and comply with our environmental management system. ● Purchasing On the basis of sustainability, criterias and principles are defined for our suppliers and purchased goods, their performance of meeting with these criterias are regularly controlled. New requirements and regulations for our sector are regularly followed and they are integrated into our purchasing process to ensure the purchased goods comply with the latest environmental regulations. SIO AUTOMOTIVE received the Zero Waste Certificate from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change with the Zero Waste Management System it established.
